Ready for back to school?

If you are looking to freshen up your back to school look without spending tons of money, check out this lookbook for ideas. You do not need to buy a whole new wardrobe. A few pieces can complement your old clothes and make them look brand new. If a certain piece is too expensive for your budget, then look for one similar at another store. If you are about to go back to work and have a closet with no suits or pencil skirts, that's okay. It doesn't matter why or what happened before your new job. Here is a short list of ten items that can be re-purposed in your new work life. 

1. Print Dress: any print dress can be incorporated in your professional wardrobe if you coordinate it with a uni-color cardigan. You can also play with different skinny or thick belts to add structure. 

2. White Pants: the perfect summer pant is white. Any color in your closet will look amazing with white, so experiment with different blouses. Even the boring ones will come alive with white.

3. Big purse: a simple leather bag will be your best friend at the office. Instead of juggling with everything, pick a handbag that has enough space. Leave your hands free for that hot cup of coffee!

4. LBD: the classic little black dress is perfect for the office too. Accessorize, accessorize, and accessorize...a great belt, a chunky necklace, an amazing bag...can do wonders. 

5. Clutch: a gorgeous clutch is great for meeting the girls for a drink after work, to carry your makeup essentials, or to protect your tablet. 

6. Animal print heels: these are a life saver when not knowing what to wear. Pick 1 color and wear it in all your pieces. Then add the print heels to add interest and vuala!

7. The cuff: this bracelet can turn any outfit from boring to fab. And you thought you could only use it when you went out!

8. A fun watch: you can definitely have some fun with this accessory. Pick a design that  speaks to you and makes you laugh. It will make you smile when you see the time and wish you were done!

9. Stripe flowy skirt: you might think flowy skirts have no place at work, but they do. This design can be fun and serious at the same time. Pair it with a  uni-color top and a blazer. 

10. Statement necklace: don't be afraid to show your chunky jewelry at the workplace. Dress very conservative while sporting your favorite piece!

FASHION NEWS: Dian Von Furstenberg and GapKids

Belgian born American fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg just launched this past April 25^th of 2013 the Limited Edition Explorers Collection for GapKids. Beautiful patterns, bright colors and her signature style are the elements present in this new project. Some of the pieces include her much celebrated wrap dresses, cute rompers, cropped pants, and colorful graphic t-shirts for toddlers and infants. The look for the little ones couldn't be complete without some accessories such as color-block sandals, adorable espadrilles and even turban headbands.
